Seminar “School and Youth Athletics”
The above Seminar was held in Moscow in
the premises of the Russia State University for Physical Education, Sports and
Tourism in the period of May 27 – 30, 2010. It was attended by 17 participants
(10 men and 7 women) from 13 countries: Azerbaijan, Belarus (2), Bulgaria,
Estonia, Kazakhstan (2), Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Russia (2),
Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine (2). Only those representatives who have taken
part in the Moscow RDC Courses “Coaches Education and Certification System Level
I” for Lecturers in 2007 or 2009 and then actively worked in their sports
organizations on the IAAF Program “KIDS’ Athletics”, were invited to participate
in the “School and Youth Athletics” Seminar.
Mr. Abdel Malek El – Hebil, Senior Manager
of the IAAF Member Services Department, as Moderator of the Seminar.
The main aim of the Seminar was to discuss
issues related to the preparation of young athletes 13-15 years old (next age
group after “IAAF KIDS’ Athletics”), i.e., means and methods of training for
this age, organization and calendar of competitions, medical and social matters,
use of modern information technologies, etc.
Mr. Abdel Malek El-Hebil, Vadim Zelichenok,
IAAF Moscow RDC Director, Ms Elena Kiseleva, Assistant Professor of the Chair of
Pedagogics, University for Physical Education, Sports and Tourism, Ms Elena
Ikonnikova, Head of the Education Department, RUSADA, Andrey Kirsanov, Website
Administrator, All – Russia Athletic Federation, delivered their presentations.
Participants of the Seminar submitted
their specific plans on the further implementation of the “KIDS’ Athletics”
Program in their respective countries.
On the 31 st of May Abdel Malek El-Hebil
delivered a presentation of this program in front of the students and teachers
of the Chair of Theory and Methodology of Athletics of the University for
Physical Education Sports and Tourism followed by the exhibition competition
“KIDS’ Athletics”. IAAF Moscow Regional Development Centre and IAAF Lecturers on
the Program “Kids’ and Youth Athletics” Ms Elvira Nikitina and Evgeny Lebonda
were in charge of the competition.
